Job Title: Patient Care Technician

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive, patient-centered environment. The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for providing direct support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while working closely with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Take and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and report any significant changes to the nursing team.
  • Provide assistance with feeding and ensure patients are comfortable during meals.
  • Assist in the collection of patient specimens for tests as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and offer emotional support.
  • Prepare patients for exams, treatments, or procedures, as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Completion of a Patient Care Technician training program or certification (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or patient care setting (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and attentive to patient needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a healthcare team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move patients, sometimes requiring physical strength.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and assisting patients for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle emotionally challenging situations with care and professionalism.
