Job Title: Patient Care Technician
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive, patient-centered environment. The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for providing direct support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while working closely with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Take and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and report any significant changes to the nursing team.
- Provide assistance with feeding and ensure patients are comfortable during meals.
- Assist in the collection of patient specimens for tests as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and offer emotional support.
- Prepare patients for exams, treatments, or procedures, as directed by healthcare providers.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Completion of a Patient Care Technician training program or certification (preferred).
- Previous experience in a healthcare or patient care setting (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and attentive to patient needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a healthcare team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move patients, sometimes requiring physical strength.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and assisting patients for extended periods.
- Ability to handle emotionally challenging situations with care and professionalism.
